“ER” and “Fathers of Russia” presented the “Father of the Soldier” medals and the “Trench Candle” awards

Awards were received by 20 fathers of Heroes of Russia and 11 award winners from different regions of the country. Among them are the fathers of SVO participants, heads of volunteer missions in the Donbass and border regions.

“We say “thank you” to those who raised real men, defenders! Behind every medal is a family story. And it is these families that are the real treasure and treasure of our country. This is what Russia is famous for, which from generation to generation passes on the traditions of nurturing love and filial attitude towards one’s Motherland. We live in difficult times. But today we can see the true meaning inherent in the celebration of Father’s Day,” said Anna Kuznetsova, chairman of the United Russia General Council commission for the protection of motherhood, childhood and family support, and deputy secretary of the party’s General Council, at the ceremony.

In turn, the chairman of the board of the All-Russian public movement “Fathers of Russia”, the initiator of the awards, Andrei Kochenov, noted that the presentation of the two awards was not combined by chance.

“Today, all of us as one team are bringing the common Victory closer: Heroes of the front and their families, home front volunteers, government officials and public figures. The awards were included in the program of Government activities to establish the foundations of traditional, spiritual and moral values ​​for the next two years,” he explained.

State Secretary – Deputy Minister of Defense, Chairman of the Board of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation Anna Tsivileva noted that cooperation with the Fathers of Russia movement continues within the framework of the signed agreement.

“The Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation is actively collecting applications for awards from parents across the country,” she added.

“United Russia” and the “Fathers of Russia” movement have been implementing joint projects and programs to support families and childhood since 2022, holding events at the party’s public reception sites and public support headquarters in the regions.

Commenting on the results of the event to honor fathers, coordinator of the party project “Historical Memory” in the Moscow region, deputy of the Moscow Regional Duma Vladimir Vshivtsev emphasized that respect and love for fathers lies at the basis of patriotic education.

United Russia devotes great efforts to preserving historical memory. The main goal of the project is to preserve the historical truth, to prevent the history of the feat of our people and our Fatherland from being rewritten. Today we hold hundreds of events, including perpetuating the memory of outstanding fellow countrymen, lessons in courage and many, many others. And it is precisely the honoring of fathers that should and, I am sure, will become the basis of many such events in the near future. After all, respect for the father is about continuity, about knowledge and respect for our past, which will allow us to build our present, and most importantly, our future without fear,” said Vladimir Vshivtsev.

The Father of a Soldier Public Recognition Award was established on May 9, 2023. Medals are awarded to fathers whose children showed special courage and heroism during the Northern Military District, as well as to men who fought shoulder to shoulder at the front with their adult children. About 300 fathers from different regions of Russia have already been awarded it.

Governor of the Moscow Region Andrei Vorobyov previously noted that assistance to the participants of the military special operation and their families is a duty for the Moscow region.

“Our task is to ensure that all the programs that we adopt work so that you feel our support,” Vorobiev said.
