Investing.com – United States: Equity markets ended the session lower on Wednesday; the decline in the , , and sectors contributed to this decline.
At the close in NYSE, the index was down 1.81%, while the index was down 1.56%, and the index was down 1.24%.
The best performance of the session for the index is to the credit of the title Goldman Sachs Group Inc (NYSE:) down 0.24% or 0.83 points to a closing price of 349.09. International Business Machines (NYSE:) drops 3.29% or 4.78 points and ends at 140.41. For its part, 3M Company (NYSE:) dropped 3.04% or 3.85 points for a closing price of 122.75.
The best performances of the S&P 500 index go to JB Hunt Transport Services Inc (NASDAQ:) which wins 4.95% for a price of 185.02, Modern Inc (NASDAQ:) up 3.32% to 197.02 and Seagate Technology PLC (NASDAQ:) gained 3.04% to close at 58.71.
The worst performers were Kraft Heinz Co (NASDAQ:) down 6.31% to 39.66 at the close, PNC Financial Services Group Inc (NYSE:) which lost 6.04% to 152.07 and CarMax Inc (NYSE:), down 5.98% to close at 63.41.
The best performances of the NASDAQ Composite index go to Ontrak Inc (NASDAQ:) which wins 94.78% for a price of 1.12, Nuzee Inc (NASDAQ:) up 52.90% to 15.55 and Magic Empire Global Ltd (NASDAQ:) which gained 44.29% for a closing price at 3.03.
The worst performers were Bit Brother Ltd (NASDAQ:) down 69.43% to 2.03 at the close, Arcimoto Inc (NASDAQ:) which lost 59.48% to 2.48 and Bruush Oral Care Inc Unit (NASDAQ:), down 26.53% to 0.43 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered rising stocks on the New York Stock Exchange by 2108 values at 979 and 83 flat; on the NASDAQ, 2609 values fell and 1145 rose, 146 remained unchanged.
Arcimoto Inc (NASDAQ:) shares fell to a historic low, after dropping 59.48% or 3.64 points for a price of 2.48. Bruush Oral Care Inc Unit (NASDAQ:) shares fell to an all-time low, after falling 26.53% or 0.16 points to a price of 0.43.
The index, which measures the implied volatility of options on the S&P 500 index, rose 5.06% to 20.34.
On the other hand, gold for February delivery fell 0.17% or 3.30 points to $1.00 per troy ounce. Regarding other commodities, crude oil for delivery in March fell by 1.11% or 0.89 points for a price of $79.56 per barrel, while Brent for delivery in March lost 1.42% or 1.22 points for a price of $84.70 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.05% at 1.08, while USD/JPY was up 0.52% at 128.79.
The US Dollar Index gained 0.01% to 102.15.
