NEW YORK (dpa-AFX) – After the high losses at the start of the week, stock prices in the USA stabilized in early trading on Tuesday. Amidst the nervousness about the monetary policy of the US Federal Reserve, there is again a certain demand for investment opportunities, it said from the trade. But investors remained caught between stubbornly high inflation and tightening central bank policies, which could slow economic growth and even plunge some countries into recession.
The leading US index Dow Jones Industrial (Dow Jones 30 Industrial) rose by 1.39 percent to 32,693 points after falling to its lowest level in more than a year the previous day. The market-wide S&P 500 rose 1.53 percent to 4052 points on Tuesday. The NASDAQ 100 rose 2.14 percent to 12,449 points. The technology-heavy index had fallen to its lowest level since the end of 2020 the previous day./bek/jha/
