The number Stars of Charly Lownoise and Mental Theo ensured on Saturday that something in the equipment of the radio program summer nails was blown up. Studio guest Niels van der Laan wanted to hear the song during the broadcast, resulting in crackling on NPO Radio 2.
By: our news editorsAccording to presenter Willemijn Veenhoven, the equipment was blown up by the happy hardcore song. “Do you also hear so much crackling?” she asked Van der Laan after the song had ended.

Veenhoven soon concluded that the sound could not only be heard in her headphones, but also on the transmitter. “We may have blown things up, I hear,” she said. Moments later, she concluded that it was indeed the case. “We seriously blew things up. No kidding.”

Van der Laan said just before that he was not allowed to play the song from his parents at home in the living room and he reacted witty. “So that’s why it wasn’t allowed on the boxes of my father and mother, because this can happen.” After about a minute the crackling was gone and the broadcast could be resumed.
