JAKARTA – Mediatek Dimensity 1100 and Dimensity 1200 are two very popular 5G chipsets and are in high demand by consumers. Because, with a more affordable price, users can get a lot of advanced features.

The Dimensity 1100 itself is already available in the POCO X3 GT which is priced at IDR 4 million. With 6 nm fabrication, POCO X3 GT users are indeed spoiled with better performance, power efficiency, and connectivity.

The Dimensity 1100 on the POCO X3 GT uses the latest four-core Arm Cortex-A78 chipset with a clock speed of up to 2.6GHz, and four Arm Cortex-A55 efficiency cores with a clock speed of up to 2GHz. This CPU architecture, combined with the ARM Mali-G77 MC9 GPU running at 836 MHz.

As a result, POCO X3 GT is able to run “heavy” games smoothly. Well, here are the differences and similarities between Mediatek Dimensity 1100 and Dimensity 1200:

Similar Performance
The performance of the two chipsets is indeed similar. However, there is a slight difference in the CPU architecture. The Dimensity 1200 carries the 1+3+4 architecture mode, which is the highest Arm Cortex-A78 3GHz main core supported by three other main cores. Among other things, Arm Cortex-A78 2.6GHz and equipped with four 2GHz Arm Cortex-A55 efficiency cores.

Meanwhile, Dimensity 1100 uses 4+4 architecture mode, namely four 2.6GHz Arm Cortex-A78 main cores supported by four 2GHz Arm Cortex-A55 efficiency cores. On paper, the Dimensity 1200 has a slightly higher AnTuTu benchmark score, at 667,000 compared to the Dimensity 1100 with a score of 643,000.

Same GPU Mali-G77
In terms of graphics processing, both chipsets use the Mali-G77 MC9 GPU and the Valhall architecture. Both have a GPU frequency of 800GHz, 9 GPU cores, and a GFlops count of 504.

Advanced 5G Modem
The integrated 5G modem in the Dimensity 1200 and 1100 supports 5G UltraSave technology. It is more power efficient and has connectivity features, such as standalone and non-standalone 5G architecture, 5G operator aggregation (2CC) across frequency division duplex (FDD) and time division duplex (TDD), dynamic spectrum sharing (DSS), True Dual SIM 5G (5G SA + 5G SA), Voice over New Radio (VoNR), and the integration of 5G HSR Mode and 5G Elevator Mode to ensure a seamless 5G connection.
