New step in the Jeffrey Epstein affair. If the latter died in prison in 2019, his former companion, Ghislaine Maxwell, was found guilty, Wednesday, December 29, by a New York court, of a series of sex crimes, including that of trafficking in young underage girls between 1994 and 2004.

The former British socialite, now aged 60, had been tried since the end of November by the Manhattan federal court on six counts, in particular that of having provided minors to her former companion, the American financier Jeffrey Epstein, for him to sexually abuse. She faces decades in prison.

After 40 hours of deliberations over five days, “a unanimous jury found Ghislaine Maxwell guilty of one of the worst crimes imaginable – facilitating and taking part in the sexual assault of children”Manhattan Federal District Attorney Damian Williams said in a statement.
Those “crimes were committed with his lifelong partner and accomplice, Jeffrey Epstein”, who committed suicide in a New York prison in August 2019, before being tried for sex crimes.
“The path to righteousness has taken too long. But justice has been served today”, welcomed the prosecutor, greeting the “courage of the girls – become women”, four victims who testified for three weeks against Ms Maxwell.
