Episode 21: Living today means

Yesterday, while walking downtown after stopping by C and Mensa*, I impulsively bought a new cell phone at Mediamarkt**. The other day, I dropped my cell phone on the floor while hanging laundry, and the screen went crazy. After returning home, unboxing in the kitchen, and sneaking into C’s room to transfer data from the old phone to the new phone and finish updating, the afternoon is almost over. I still need time to say goodbye to my old phone… , the tedious thoughts were completely eliminated by organizing all the old cases that did not fit the new phone.

In the evening, I bought a semester pass to Unisport*** starting this semester. Among them, I am taking a class called ‘Contemporary Dance’, where I learn gentle choreography to popular songs. You need to exercise, but you have to have fun to continue it, so I chose the class that seemed fun among the classes offered, and I happened to be taking W as well, so I participate every week with excitement and half nervousness. Although there were some postures that were slightly incorporating ballet today, they didn’t feel as difficult as last week, so there were no movements that were difficult to follow. There are so many students that they fill the hall, so at the end of the class, they are randomly divided into groups and video is taken. As I was nervously waiting for it to be my group’s turn, I heard the teacher say, “Nobody is judging.” Last week, when I was filming a video, I felt awkward and embarrassed watching myself dancing, so instead of trying to control my emotions, I just hesitated and even giggled, but this time, I tried to focus only on the music that was playing. immersion. It is an activity that is not often experienced in daily life.

So, a certain sentence comes to mind. ****

And at the end of the diary, I continued writing a sentence I had seen somewhere else.

Living today actually requires courage. Only those who are not bound by the past of regret and longing and who know how to have courage in an uncertain and uncertain future focus on who they are today. It is in the same context that the driving force of love is courage. Love is an abnormal state in which humans only exist at this very moment. Today shines brighter because nothing lasts forever. As I witness things that I thought would never change collapse and deteriorate helplessly, I place more weight on their value. Although today may not be the best day, recognizing that it is the only day that will not exist anywhere in the past or future gives me courage at the same time as it makes me sad.

* Student cafeteria used by college students and faculty. Payment is made after adding money to your student ID or faculty ID. Outsiders can also enter and eat, but they pay a higher price than students and faculty. In Germany, university campuses are not gathered in one place and, in worst cases, are located differently in each college building, so student cafeterias are spread out in several locations. Meals are provided a la carte or buffet style, and the ingredients are explained, so vegans, vegetarians, and people allergic to certain ingredients have options.

** In Korea, it is Hi-Mart. It is a franchise market throughout Germany that sells electronic products.

*** The university offers sports programs every semester. If you purchase a semester pass at a student discount price, you can enter the sports center building and use the classes and gym provided.
