episode 1: “Reunion” for the French team

Throughout this month of August tinged with blue, white and red, we will have the chance to follow the backstage of the French team in a mini-series entitled “Quotidien”, the first episode of which “Reunion was recently released. In the program ? Lots of media, a bit of Boris, but no basketball yet.

What better way to start our follow-up of the Blues than to start with Evan Fournier dropping a big fat “bad bad guy” in dedication to Niska? Nothing. And that the French team understood it well since the scene is the opening of the mini-series “Quotidien”, which will allow us to accompany the Blues throughout the summer. In any case, the fun was there for this first episode entitled “Retrouvailles” where we could admire the toothy smiles of our Frenchies who therefore… met on July 29th for medical tests, but also of content day in the words of our national Rudy Gobert. But then what is the content day ? Well, quite simply two days dedicated to the media and the creation of content that can be published on social networks later. The opportunity to show fans that the recovery has indeed started, and this in a way very rooted in its time as explained by Clément Daniou (Social media manager) and Fabrice Canet (Communication manager):

“Today we have moved on to a much more digital communication, much more digitized, with social networks which have taken an important part in the communication of entities like at home, at the French Basketball Federation. – Clement Daniou

“The idea of this content day, it’s also being able to say to yourself “in two days, we do as much content as possible, and then we bother the players more on this type of question or area during all the preparation, and we really focus on the objective of sporting success. –Fabrice Canet

As Vincent Poirier also reminds us in the video capsule of just over two minutes, this day is generally placed under the watchword “relaxation”. We didn’t count the giggles either, don’t mess around, but you get the idea. Far from the pressure of matches, it’s an opportunity to feel light. Quiz of all kinds, photos on a green background, games of ping-pong: no question of making the task long and boring. The consequence of this still remains that we logically did not have the right to a basketball sequence, since the resumption of the game was on July 31 and does not appear in this episode. Rest assured, as for the down-to-earth side of the video, we have our dose thanks to Boris Diaw:

“It’s always a bit like back to school, a new year, sometimes new goals, often faces we already know, but also new ones. It’s at the beginning of the prep that we really put things in place, the objectives and then how seriously we’re going to get into it. Different stages, of course, in a preparation, trying to have a certain build-up. But there is necessarily an anchor point where we all start at the same time and then it’s a common adventure. –Boris Diaw

The reunion is done, and in a very chill way too! Thank you gentlemen, it was very cool but now we want to see some French basketball. Well, you just have to go to the Instagram or Twitter accounts of the French team to find some, but we still hope to have a little exclusivity when episode 2 of “Quotidien” is released.
