“I WANT AND REJOICE”


On Monday, October 2nd, the concert about the music of Epirus, entitled “I forget and rejoice”, which was organized by the International Center of Epirus Music (DiKIM). The concert took place under the auspices of the Pan-Iranian Confederation of Greece and the participation of the Region of Epirus.

A great celebration, where the new generation of Epirus starred! Great instrumentalists, who deservedly take the baton from the legends of Epirus music, but also renowned singers, who sang with their authentic, emotional voice the songs of foreignness and love from many musical idioms of Epirus.

And together with the Lyceum of the Greek Girls of Athens who accompanied the songs with dance, wearing beautiful authentic costumes, we traveled to Pogoni, Zagori, Konitsa, Ioannina, Souli, Metsovo…

DiKIM and the organizers would like to thank from the depths of their continental soul, all contributors, sponsors, partners, technicians, musicians and dancers, the Greek High School, the Pan-Epironian Confederation of Greece, the Region of Epirus, as well as the Concert Hall for the kind collaboration that led to a very beautiful result which was enjoyed by 1,500 spectators who had the opportunity to attend.

The artistic advisors of the concert were: Lefteris Drandakis, Artistic Director of the Lyceum of Hellenic Girls, Nikos Zekis, researcher of Epirotian music and dance tradition, dance teacher and Cultural Commissioner of the Pan-Epirotic Confederation of Greece and Anastasios Plitsis, teacher of Greek dances at the Lyceum of Hellenic Girls.

The clarinet players who took part were:
