On the 20th, Epik High’s Tablo, Mithra Jin, and Tukutz appeared as guests on the YouTube channel Chanhanhyeong Shin Dong-yeop and talked.
On this day, Tablo announced that his daughter Haru has grown up and turned 13. When Shin Dong-yeop said that he showed his children about the controversies surrounding him in the past before they knew about them, Tablo also said, “I also showed Haru about the Tajinyo incident when she was 11 years old.”
The Tajinyo incident refers to a difficult time in 2010, when suspicions were raised online about Tablo’s graduation from Stanford University and that he had falsified his academic credentials, which escalated into controversy. At that time, Tablo personally went to Stanford University to provide an explanation and appealed, “It’s not that I don’t believe it, it’s that I don’t believe it.”
Regarding this, Tablo confessed, “At that time, those words really came from my heart. I had no idea that they would resonate with so many people. I was actually embarrassed to say it while crying a little. But I also showed it to Haru.”
He added, “(To Haru), someone can harass you like this too. I explained everything like this. Because everything can be searched.” It is clear that the Tajinyo incident left a scar and pain to Tablo, but it was revealed that he wanted to remain a proud father in front of his daughter Haru more than anyone else.
Tablo has mentioned the Tajinyo incident several times and shared the injustice he experienced at the time. Last May, in an appearance on tvN’s ‘You Quiz on the Block’, he recalled that miserable time, saying, “As soon as that happened, Haru was born, I became a father, I had responsibilities, but I had no job,” and he also recently appeared on Seong Si-kyung’s YouTube channel. He appeared on the show and opened up about the pain that even close celebrities had turned away from him due to the Tajinyo incident, which drew sympathy.
Meanwhile, Tablo is married to actress Kang Hye-jung and has one daughter.
