REPUBLIKA.CO.ID,JAKARTA — Epidemiologist from the Faculty of Public Health, University of Indonesia (FKM UI) Iwan Ariawan appealed to the public to immediately follow suit vaccination Covid-19 with any brand. Meanwhile, Epidemiologist from the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health and Nursing (FKKMK) Universitas Gadjah Mada, Riris Andono Ahmad, assessed that there are many reasons why people are picky about vaccine brands.
“Probably because of the information circulating regarding each vaccine,” he said.
He assessed the risk that people who continue to be picky about vaccine brands are infected with the Covid-19 virus until they experience severity. Riris said that currently available vaccines in Indonesia are the best vaccines.
“The sooner it is vaccinated, the risk of experiencing severe Covid-19 will be avoided,” he said.
Previously, the Spokesperson for the Covid-19 Vaccination of the Ministry of Health, Siti Nadia Tarmizi, admitted that some people are picky about vaccine brands. Generally, people are picky about vaccine brands because of hoaxes about side effects.
He hopes that people will immediately follow the vaccine with any brand. To get out of the pandemic and of course so as not to face the threat of virus variants.
“So, we must together have protection or immunity to be able to fight together,” he said.
