Epic releases Fortnite changes after criticism of aim assist with PC controllers – Gaming – News

Epic Games comes with a new update for Fortnite, which includes adjustments for the use of controllers on the PC. Several professional players believe that the aim assist thereby provides too great a gameplay advantage.

Epic Games let us know on Twitter that version 12.60 of Fortnite will be available this week. It makes a number of changes, including a dynamic resolution for the iOS version. Several changes will be made next week to address the criticism of the aim assist in PC players with a controller. In the notes, Epic Games does not say exactly what it will change; the developer talks about tweaking and tuning the controllers that are connected to a pc.

PC players who do not use the mouse and keyboard and choose to connect a controller, like players on an Xbox One or PlayStation 4, have the benefit of the aim assist functionality, which basically amounts to an automatic help with target enemies.

Among other famous players like Ninja, Tfue and Aydan express criticism. According to them, playing Fortnite with a controller is ruining the experience for players using a mouse and keyboard because they don’t have aim assist. Tfue shows that the best players all use a controller on the PC. The criticism focuses specifically on PC players with a controller and not so much on console players, even though both have aim assist at their disposal. The criticism is that aim assist works better on the PC and also provides too great an advantage, because PC players also have other advantages, such as the ability to use monitors with high refresh rates.
