Epic is hosting a Fortnite tournament during E3 featuring around 50 celebrities
Epic has announced that it will host a Fortnite tournament during E3. No less than 100 people will participate in this tournament, including 50 pro gamers and 50 celebrities.
Epic has announced on its own website that a Fortnite tournament called Fortnite Party Royale will be held during E3. Also, we don’t have much information yet – an exact date and time is also missing – but what Epic promises us already sounds good! There are around a hundred players participating in this tournament, including around fifty pro gamers and around fifty celebrities. For example, we know that rappers Drake and Travis Scott are expected to play, so only 48 left. Not that these two have been confirmed to be participating, but hey.
It’s still not entirely clear what exactly Epic means by the word “celebrity.” Of course, it’s possible that 50 world-renowned movie and music stars will show up who enjoy playing Fortnite, but we’re guessing a lot of YouTubers and people from other social media platforms will also be labeled as “celebrities.” ”. Not that we disagree: there are plenty of people on YouTube now who are more famous than all manner of musicians, actors, and authors. It’s just something to keep in mind for a while.
Whatever your opinion of the participating celebrities (once announced), it’s got to be a great event. After all, all those big names coming to E3 to play a game will generate a lot of mainstream attention. And the fact that even global stars with a lot of fans will play a game, maybe also shows that it’s not as harmful as some authorities think. And that’s good news for America and all the situations there surrounding violence in games, a discussion that recently picked up again there.
In any case, we are looking forward to this tournament and waiting for our invitation to participate. We are pro-gamers and of course celebrities: kill two birds with one stone!
