Developer Fortnite Epic Games has announced it will no longer provide online or server support for 17 previous games, including six in the Unreal series, dating back to 1998, and will discontinue access to some games entirely. The servers are already being phased out, but the work won’t be completed until January 24, 2023.
According to the announcement blog post, Epic described its decision to stop servicing some online games as part of its transition to “exclusively [поддержке] Epic online services with their unified friendship system, voice chat feature, parental control and parental verification features. The list of End of Support games includes:
- 1000 little claws
- Dance Center 1
- Dance Central 2
- Dance Central 3 (Epic notes that Dance Central VR online multiplayer will be available)
- Green Day: rock band
- The monsters (probably) stole my princess
- Rock band 1
- Rock band 2
- Rock band 3 (Epic notes that Rock Band 4 online multiplayer will be available)
- The Beatles: rock band
- Rocket propelled supersonic stunt battle cars
- Unreal gold
- Unreal II: The Awakening
- Unreal Tournament 2003
- Unreal Tournament 2004
- Unreal Tournament 3 (Epic notes this plans bring the game back online)
- Unreal Tournament: Game of the Year Edition
Players will lose access to the following games on the following dates:
- Battle Breakers December 30 (“We will automatically refund players for any in-game purchases made via direct payment through Epic up to 180 days prior to today,” Epic said in a blog post)
- Unreal Tournament (Alpha) January 24th
- Blitz rock band January 24th
- Rock band mate January 24th
- January 24th
