Selular.ID – Epic Games will reportedly donate all of the company’s revenue generated from purchases of in-game Fortnite during the period March 20 to April 3.
And it was noted, as of March 23, that the game company had managed to pocket a total of 50 billion US dollars in donations or the equivalent of Rp. 714 billion.
The amount of donations is certainly fantastic, especially since Epic Games collected them in a relatively short time.
Previously, the @FortniteGame account reported that it managed to collect donations of 36 million US dollars (around Rp. 514.8 billion) on March 21.
Then, accumulated donations rose to 50 million US dollars as of March 23.
And until now there is no further information on how much total donations Epic Game has collected.
What is clear is that the total Epic Games donation will be very high, it is predicted that it will be no less than IDR 714 billion because the donation collection period will still last until April 3.
And considering that the number of Fortnite Battle Royale players (gamers) is now recorded at more than 350 million globally. The number exceeds Indonesia’s population of around 270 million people.
In a previous announcement, this donation to Ukraine coincided with the start of the new season of Fortnite Chapter 3.
Epic Games itself details the income that will be donated, namely from sales of V-Buck packages, Fortnite Crew subscription fees, Battle Passes to certain cosmetic packages.
According to the official Epic Games website, the aid will be channeled to Ukraine through several humanitarian organizations including Direct Relief, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the United Nations World Food Program (UNWFP) and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
