Epic Games is temporarily responsible for the Death Stranding director’s cut giveaway error

In case you missed it, the Epic Games Store quickly removed Death Stranding: Director’s Cut as a free game for Christmas on December 25 and replaced it with the standard version. The hype surrounding the purchase of this gift from the Epic Games Store has temporarily brought the store’s servers to a standstill, leaving many confused and frustrated. Along the way, Epic Games has added fuel to the fire by removing Death Stranding: Director’s Cut without warning. In its place was the standard edition of Death Stranding, and it was completely incomprehensible what had happened.

At least until today, the Chinese branch of Epic Games apologized to its users and tried to explain the situation:

Last night, an Epic temp accidentally swapped the standard version of Death Stranding for the Director’s Cut version. We apologize to those who could not get the Director’s Cut, and we are very sorry. Our agreement with the publisher was that only the standard version would be released, and our staff made a mistake. We are currently discussing our future arrangements with the publisher.

Apparently we’re talking about some kind of trainee, too bad the post doesn’t give an idea of the future fate of this unnamed hero. Which, albeit by mistake, he gave a splendid gift to those who succeeded. However, it seems to me that this was a great misconduct on the part of the entire publishing house of Epic Games and 505 Games, because many of the support staff were sure that it was Direcor’s Cut that was involved in the distribution. A few hours before the launch, the data miners could see that it would be a Director’s Cut. Additionally, at least one person has reached out to Epic Games support and confirmed that the director’s cut is the one that should have been available.

Death Stranding: Director’s Cut is an improved version of the game, especially for PC. Includes additional graphics features, including support for 4K resolution, removal of advertisements for products such as Monster Energy Drinks, new combat skills and equipment, and the “Factory Destroyed” mission. However, it makes no drastic changes and is completely optional for the game.
