Fortnite players will soon be able to video chat in-game via the Houseparty app. Maker Epic Games is adding the service to the PC and PlayStation versions of the game, reports the game company Wednesday.
You must first download the Houseparty app on iOS or Android and connect it to Fortnite. The app cuts the image on your face and replaces the background with a neutral color.
The game shows up to four people on screen at the same time, in a strip to the left next to the game itself. According to The Verge up to ten people can be in a chat at the same time, of which only the four most recent speakers are shown.
Epic Games bought Houseparty in 2019. The company now wants to make it easier for players to use the app while gaming.
