London –
Enzo Fernandez moved to Chelsea after bringing Argentina to the championship World Cup 2022. The season was tarnished because The Blues look lousy.
Enzo Fernandez was bought by Chelsea in January from Benfica for almost £107 million. The 22-year midfielder signed an 8.5 year contract to play at Stamford Bridge.
But the beginning of his career at Chelsea did not go well. The west London club have struggled as a result of the signing spree in the last two transfer windows – Chelsea signed 17 new players and spent over £600 million.
They are certainly without a title and threatened to finish at the bottom of the Premier League. Currently Frank Lampard’s troops are in 12th position with 43 points from 36 matches, and will face Manchester United, Thursday (26/5/2023) early morning WIB.
This situation makes Lampard concerned about Enzo Fernandez, who should end the season on a high. Because at the end of last year he brought Argentina to win the 2022 World Cup.
“I have great faith that Enzo will be a big part of the future of this club. I’m a little sad for him,” Lampard was quoted as saying Standard.
“He’s had a big move to the Premier League. He’s just won the World Cup. He should sit back at the end of the season, be entitled to kick back and say ‘What a year’.”
“But in terms of how he impacts the future of this club, I see him as having an essential role,” added the legendary Chelsea midfielder.
