Enzo Enzo: “I still don’t want to stop singing”

Le Télégramme: How will Saturday’s concert take place?

Enzo Enzo : I am very happy to sing here on Saturday. It is an invitation from Myriam Kerhardy and the Anatole Company. The idea is to have the choristers sing with and without me. I will also sing with a chorister and a pianist, as well as alone with two guitarists. So I will take up the songs from my repertoire with a different facet. I am just a simple guest in Myriam Kerhardy’s project. This is her goal, she is very invested and I hope that from year to year, she will grow her audience, because she is very motivated.

Are you happy with the idea of singing with new people?

Of course, it’s really cool to be able to hear again some songs from my repertoire that I’ve never performed on stage. Songs that I haven’t heard for a very long time. It’s nice to hear these songs in a new format, and then these choristers are very motivated, they deserve credit for learning everything by heart – some were already there for last year’s concert.

Today you are 64 years old. What are your end-of-career goals?

I’m lucky that I still don’t want to stop singing, and I’m releasing a new album called ” Pantoum ” in September. He is restoring a show created in November around poems that were put into songs. I am happy that this project has come to fruition. We will play this new album in Paris, at the Théâtre de la Tour Eiffel, on November 19.

What is your connection with Brittany?

I love playing in Brittany, I feel good there. I played in Pordic, at the Festival de la Pointe, outdoors last year, and I really enjoyed it. The sea spray gives me a lot of well-being, it’s physical. I’ve been giving a course every year for about fifteen years now in a thalassotherapy hotel in Dinard, where I offer a vocal workshop for a few days. The next edition will be held from September 23 to 28.

How do you feel about the success of your song “Juste quelqu’un de bien” thirty years later?

It’s something. I feel a tenderness with the audience when I sing this song. It’s a testament to my success and I rely on it. I’ve never stopped singing and I’m always happy to get on stage and collaborate with new musicians.
