ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – Two Stateliners who have both helped and injured during the pandemic received a huge surprise Thursday.
A month-long hiatus from their mortgage payments was the payoff for two residents. Frances Alyward-Allen, an English teacher at Jefferson High School, and salon owner Jordan Ferro, both take care of their mortgage payment and taxes for a month as part of the Envoy Mortgages Gift of Home program.
The program is designed to show gratitude during a financially difficult time for its clients nationwide. Gift of Home recipients were randomly selected from current Envoy Mortgage borrowers who have given back to their communities as veterans, first responders, nurses, educators, and small business owners.
“Skipping a month’s mortgage will definitely put food on the table. We obviously have a new addition. Three children now instead of just two. So that’s a huge blessing, ”Ferro said.
