Environmental Inspectors Find Non-Compliance in 73% of Industrial Sites in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region

Environmental inspectors from the DREAL and the departmental population protection directorates (DDPP) carried out a series of checks on chemical products at 296 industrial sites in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. This vast control campaign, carried out at the request of the prefect Fabienne Buccio in order to prevent industrial risks, identified non-compliance in 216 establishments, or 73%.

For 13 sites, the local prefects even issued formal notices to manufacturers to comply with the regulations within three months. ” These formal notices are justified by the proven risk of pollution in the event of a spill, in particular due to the absence of retention devices “, specifies the Prefecture.
