There is also a negative report for the other two that were going to be installed in Fuentelahiguera
The BOE of February 8 published the environmental impact statement of three photovoltaic plants that the company Parque FV Borealis, SL wanted to settle in the province of Guadalajara.
An environmental statement from the General Directorate for Environmental Quality and Assessment under the Ministry of Ecological Transition, which It has been negative, so they cannot be built, at least in the conditions in which they were projected.
Photovoltaic plants are called Polaris, Bolearis and Centauro. The first two were planned in the municipality of Fuentelahiguera. The third in the municipalities of Cabanillas, Valdeaveruelo and Guadalajara. Between the three, 547,000 solar panels were going to be installed on an area of more than 713 hectares.
The file has been processed for two years, a period in which a dozen councils consulted, neighbors, associations and the administration have presented their opinions on the project.
Spaces with high ecological value
The ones that have had the most weight have been those of the General Directorate of Natural Environment and Biodiversity of the Junta de Comunidades de Castilla La Mancha who has pointed out the effects that it would have on the flora and fauna of the area, some spaces that, according to what he has argued, are likely to be declared as spaces of the Natura 2000 Network. Among the wealth to be protected are some dehesas of holm oaks, communities of amphibians or birds of prey that are in the area or use it as a way of passage.
According to the environmental impact statement, the installation of these plants would cause the degradation of habitats and ecological niches, there would be a risk of collision and electrocution for birds, and it would cause disturbance to species during construction, causing them to leave for other points.
The statement does not admit appeal.
The residents of Cabanillas, against
It should be remembered that the Centauro plant in Cabanillas del Campo received clear opposition from the neighbors mainly due to the proximity of some of the photovoltaic panels to the houses on the golf course, a rejection that was also expressed by the council itself, which decided not to issue building permits for this type of facility.
He mayor of Cabanillas, José García Salinas, has shown “their enormous satisfaction and joy” due to the fact that finally the macro-project for the installation of a solar park is not carried out. “This is a resounding victory for our City Council, of course, but fundamentally for the municipality as a whole, for the residents, especially those of the Golf Course, who were seriously threatened by this macro-project,” has pointed out the mayor, García Salinas.
Related to this issue, the City Council is already working on this reform of the POM, which will be released in a few months.
Other rejected projects
In addition, as APAG has reported on its social networks, along with these projects, others have been rejected, such as “Alcal I” of 135 hours in Casa de Uceda and its evacuation infrastructure that crosses 4 terms and PSF Aura Solar, of 1160 ha. in the term of Guadalajara, Malaga del Fresno, Malaguilla, Galapagos and Torrejon del Rey.
On the contrary, the “Oliva Solar” project 1, 2 and 3, 4 and 5 has been approved although with many corrective and compensatory measures. The 5 plants will be located in Usanos in an area of 235.44 ha.
