SHEFFIELD – A pair of environmental activists caused the interruption of games at the World Snooker Championship.
A man in a t-shirt with the inscription Just Stop Oil jumped onto one of the two tables and poured orange powder on the canvas and the balls. A woman tried to climb onto a side table at Sheffield’s Crucible Theater but was stopped by one of the referees. The security guards then escorted the two intruders fighting according to the inscriptions on the T-shirts for the end of the use of oil and gas.

The organizers managed to clean the splashed table with a vacuum cleaner, but the party was eventually postponed to Tuesday. The second table could continue after a forty-minute interruption.
Activist group Just Stop Oil posted a video of the event on its Twitter account. A thirty-year-old man and a fifty-two-year-old woman were arrested by the police, according to Sky Sport.
