SITARAIL, in collaboration with the technical services of the Ministry of the Environment, organized a reforestation day in Bérégadougou, this Saturday, August 3, 2024. With the active participation of administrative, customary, religious authorities and the local population, a total of 300 plants were planted underground and protected, thus responding to the call launched by the Burkinabe authorities, during the National Day of Trees (JNA), to make the country green on all ways.
« During the 2024 reforestation campaign, I invite all citizens living in Burkina Faso and Burkinabè abroad to a patriotic pledge. This commitment includes re-vegetating our land in every way so that there is a success rate of at least 70% of plants alive after the first two years of planting. he invited the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim TRAORÉ, in his speech read by the Minister of Environment, Water and Sanitation, during the celebration of 6e edition of the National Tree Day (JNA) 2024 held on Saturday June 22, 2024 in Bobo-Dioulasso.
In response to this call from the President of Faso, SITARAIL organized, on Saturday August 3, 2024, a reforestation in Bérégadougou, in the Hauts Bassins region. On the site of the National Tree Day in the area, near the railway line, 300 plants were planted underground, thanks to a coordinated action between SITARAIL, the administrative, forestry and security authorities, and the people next to the river
The Department of the Environment of Bérégadougou, which provided technical and practical support for this tree planting day, wanted to thank the railway transport company for its valuable movement for the benefit of the environment. “Overall, the day of the reforestation went well, thanks to the authorities and the local numbers were mobilized. I am very grateful to SITARAIL for honoring his commitment and for making today’s reforestation a reality,” said Lieutenant Mariam Sia, head of the Bérégadougou Department of Environment.
