Environment – Freiburg im Breisgau – Hauk presents the goals of Strategy 2050 for the forest – knowledge

Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – After a multi-million dollar emergency plan with quick help for the severely damaged forest, the state wants to set the course for the coming decades with a long-term forest strategy. The aim must be to create a long-term program to make the forest climate-stable by 2050, said Forest Minister Peter Hauk (CDU). In an online forum on Thursday (11.00 a.m.) he and Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann (Greens) will present the 21 key points of the forest strategy.

In recent months, the most important content for such a forest strategy was exchanged and recorded in discussions and working groups with associations and industries, nature conservationists and scientists. The cornerstones of the long-term strategy should affect forest management in times of climate change as well as the forest as a recreational area, communication and biodiversity, wildlife management and digitization.
