The Berlin scientist Volker Quaschning was won as a prominent participant for the information day. Quaschning will give a lecture on climate change and today’s tasks for engineers.
Afterwards, Professors Henrik te Heesen (Birkenfeld) and Jochen Bühler (Trier) will provide insights into the study and research at the university. When studying environmental technology, the technical background of renewable energies such as hydropower, wind and solar energy, which make an important contribution to climate protection, is taught, they explain.
Engineers with a focus on renewable energies are actively involved in shaping the energy transition, emphasize Bühler and te Heesen. In addition, the jobs in the renewable energy industry in which the graduates will work are sustainable and well paid.
Numerous universities in the network
At its first information day, the network will provide information about courses offered throughout Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In addition to the Trier University of Applied Sciences and the Birkenfeld Environmental Campus, the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences, the Ingolstadt University of Applied Sciences, the University of Kassel, the Erfurt University of Applied Sciences, the Stralsund University of Applied Sciences, the OTH Amberg-Weiden, the Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences, the South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences, the TH Aschaffenburg, Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences, Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences, Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences, Bern University of Applied Sciences, Biberach University of Applied Sciences, Münster University of Applied Sciences, Ulm University of Technology and many others. In digital meetings, participants can contact universities, ask questions or take part in virtual laboratory tours. The departments of building and life as well as environmental planning/environmental technology present themselves at Trier University of Applied Sciences.
