Entrepreneurs plan to recover 20% of the jobs lost in Puebla

Puebla, Pue. Due to the opening of the state government to increase the capacity of clients and personnel in businesses and companies, the Council of Business Organizations (COE) foresees that it will propitiate a recovery of 20% of the 10,000 jobs lost among its 8,000 partners due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this from next June.

César Bonilla Yunes, president of the organization, explained that the panorama has been complicated; However, there is confidence to get out of the economic crisis quickly due to the decrease in infections this month, without the reappearance of cases after the Easter holidays.

He explained that resisting the effects of the pandemic has not been easy for the business community, but more than a year later the vast majority are still standing despite the low sales that barely have a slight increase that may be a sign that everything will improve and, with this, to plan to recover lost jobs.

“SMEs were forced to cut jobs since last July, but now with the vaccination campaign and which is reflected in less incidence of infections by Covid-19 it can mean an opportunity to open vacancies, especially in the service sectors because people are going out to eat again somewhere, but complying with sanitary measures ”, he deepened.

He stressed that during the pandemic the businesses considered essential are those that were generating jobs, but the least for issues of care or distribution of basic health products.

In addition, he said, service businesses began to come out of inactivity, from hotels to those who provide maintenance services on a small scale, unlike those who work with industries, where there is more movement.

Bonilla Yunes insisted that if citizens do not lower their guard, there could be a continuous recovery of jobs and, with it, that they do not close badly this year, which “painted” for worse things in the economy.

In addition, he stated, the request of the COE partners towards the state and federal authorities is that the requirements be made more flexible in order to access loans, because they are asked to have at least one employee registered with the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), but not even that have some MSMEs (micro, small and medium enterprises) that stopped having staff due to the crisis and are now served by the owners themselves.

He stressed that those who managed to access loans used them to maintain operating expenses for at least six months and stock up on merchandise to improve sales that allow them to survive in 2021.
