He revealed, not a few private car public transportation operating outside the Ciamis terminal. According to him, these private transport drivers pick up and drop off prospective passengers to their respective homes.
“They generally use a car with a capacity of 8 passengers,” he told HR Online, Tuesday (7/12/2021).
Furthermore, Koko added, the emergence of illicit travel (private public transportation) is certainly very detrimental to official public transportation.
So, he asked the relevant agencies to regulate the black plate public transportation service. Because, it is an urgency for the continuity of the official public business of land transportation.
“There needs to be law enforcement. Due to the fact that there are many black plate cars that carry public passengers,” he said.
According to Koko, that private public transportation does not have a roadworthiness test (KIR), and pays for life insurance. So that illegal travel passengers are not entitled to insurance coverage due to traffic accidents.
“So that drivers or illicit travel entrepreneurs understand the rules, I hope there will be firm action to eradicate them,” Koko hoped.
In addition, he continued, operating illicit travel not only threatens public transport service entrepreneurs. However, it also threatens efforts to control and transmit Covid-19.
