BORKEN. The Borken Economic Development Agency has presented the concept for the new “Borken Economic Days 2025”. Around 80 entrepreneurs took part in the information breakfast in the town hall.
The “Borken Business Days” will take place on May 17th and 18th, 2025. In addition, separate business days are planned in Weseke and Burlo in autumn 2025 and spring 2026 to individually present the diversity of local companies. Coordination with the Marbeck district also takes place in parallel. According to the city administration, a concept was developed in close cooperation with entrepreneurs that presents the Borken business location and its districts and also offers an information and networking platform for the local economy.
Networking and lectures
The event starts on Saturday, May 17th, with a day for companies focused on exchanging information and networking with business partners. A business forum with well-known speakers is planned for the morning. This includes Markus Gürne, who, as head of the ARD business editorial team and presenter of the TV format “Wirtschaft vor Acht”, will address global economic and financial topics in his lecture. Participants can also look forward to a lecture by Dominic von Proeck as an expert in artificial intelligence. The content of his lecture is how to deal with AI in the world of work and the educational revolution through ChatGPT.
In a panel discussion, the presentations will be summarized and classified from the perspective of entrepreneurship and a student. At the end of the day, the entrepreneur evening will take place on Saturday at “Meerkötter Workshop Supplies”. In addition to an entertainment program with live music and acrobatics, there will also be time for exchange.
Chance to visit companies
On Sunday, May 18th, the Borken companies will be in focus and will open their doors to anyone interested. To this end, economic development will create suitable cycle routes and other transport options. In addition, various selfie rallies will connect the individual companies and locations with each other. In order to draw attention to the companies, the Borken Economic Development Agency has also presented a digital business map, which will also be visible throughout the year.
Advance ticket sales for the business forum and the entrepreneurs’ evening as well as the registration phase for Sunday take place online at borken.de/wirtschaftstage from mid-November.
