According to Woman NYC, women own 21% of the businesses that create jobs, but only 3% of them are Latinas. For this reason, the city offers workshops that can help their businesses grow, but there are also programs to motivate them to learn about other sectors. “One of the big problems with growth is that they tend to open businesses in industries that are already saturated,” says Diana Franco, director of Woman NYC.
