Entrepreneur Here Mahendra named suspect in illegal possession of firearms case

Entrepreneur Mahendra Dito Sampurno or Here Mahendra Bareskrim Polri has been named a suspect in the case of illegal possession of a number of firearms. How did the illegal rifles get started?

The case of illegal guns was revealed after the KPK searched the house Here Mahendra related to the case of money laundering (TPPU) former Secretary of the Supreme Court (MA) Nurhadi on Monday (13/3/2023). Investigators found a total of 15 firearms from Dito’s house.

“In the search, it was true that the team found 15 firearms of various types,” said Head of KPK Reporting Unit Ali Fikri at the KPK building, Jalan Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday (17/3).

Have a Special Weapons Room

KPK Investigation Director Asep Guntur said that initially his party did not target looking for firearms during the search. However, the findings were revealed when investigators combed every room in Dito Mahendra’s house.

“I also happened to be there, it’s true that in a room there were found 15 pieces complete with ammunition, firearms, live ammunition,” said Asep at the KPK building, Jalan Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday (20/3/2023) .

“So we were also at that time because the weapon was not the object we were looking for, it was not included in the object we were looking for. But of course the whereabouts of these weapons had to be communicated and coordinated with the National Police,” he added.

Asep said the KPK had handed over the findings of the dozens of firearms to the National Police. In particular, the KPK has also coordinated with the National Police’s Security Intelligence Agency to trace the permits for possession of these weapons.

The Police Hand Down

Police then stepped in to explore the senpi-senpi. Kabareskrim Polri Komjen Agus Andrianto said that some of the weapons were unlicensed. However, Agus did not explain in detail how many weapons had permits and how many did not.

“If I’m not mistaken, there are 15 (firearms). Some are licensed, some are not. Later we will investigate where the unlicensed weapons come from,” Agus told reporters, Tuesday (28/3/2023).
