Entop Simurgh: The Afghan Supercar with Le Mans Dreams and a 2004 Corolla Engine

The Entop Simurgh is powered by a modest 1.8-litre engine from a 2004 Toyota Corolla. They plan to test the Afghan supercar in racing.

The new Entop Simurgh was presented at the auto show in Doha (Qatar). The unusual supercar was built in Afghanistan and is planned to be put into small-scale production. About it reports Carscoops website.

The Entop Simurgh supercar was conceived by Afghan entrepreneur Mohammad Reza Ahmadi. Work on the car began 5 years ago – before the Taliban seized power. Now the Taliban are planning to use the project to remind people of Afghanistan, as well as to “improve the country’s image.”

The first prototype of the supercar was shown at the beginning of the year under the name Mada9. The new version of the model was renamed Simurgh – in honor of the dog-headed bird from Persian mythology.

The Afghan supercar has a rather strange design. On the one hand, it has a streamlined silhouette, on the other, an unusual hump has appeared on the hood. The quality of the car is very artisanal.

The Entop Simurgh interior was not shown as it is not ready yet. The specifications are also not disclosed: it is only known that the sports coupe is equipped with a modified 1.8-liter engine from the old 2004 Toyota Corolla.

Entop Simurgh is planned to be exhibited at the 24-hour race in Le Mans, and then put into small-scale production. However, Mohammed Reza Ahmadi admits that there is no money for this, and therefore announced a campaign to collect donations in the amount of $43.2 million.
