The Ministry of Public Health received donations yesterday from the Pan American Health Organization / World Health Organization (PAHO / WHO), as well as from the authorities of the Cibao International Airport, in separating acts in support of the fight against Covid- 19.
PAHO donated 10 kits (10,000 units) of viral transport media for taking PCR-TR samples, supplies that will increase the capacity of the Dr. Defilló National Laboratory for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 in the country.
The donation also went to the Vice Ministry of Collective Health and its Health Intelligence Center (CISP). The Vice Ministry received three printers, 21 software for computers, seven water dispensers and 20 toners for printers.
During the delivery ceremony, the Minister of Public Health, Plutarco Arias; the Vice Minister of Collective Health, Ivelisse Acosta; the person in charge of the Molecular Virology department, Lucía de la Cruz, on behalf of Ivonne Imbert, director of the Dr. Defilló National Laboratory; and the PAHO / WHO representative in the country, Alma Morales Salinas.
Cibao airport
While the authorities of the Cibao International Airport donated 16,000 biosecurity suits worth $ 300,000 to be used by health personnel working in the fight against Covid-19.
The delivery was made by Félix García, executive president of the Cibao Airport Corporation, who explained that the contribution aims to contribute to the strengthening of security measures against medical personnel facing the ravages of the Coronavirus and the COVID-19 disease.
