Through a note of repudiation, entities affiliated with Fonacate (Permanent National Forum of Typical State Careers) condemned, this Thursday (14), the statements made by the Minister of the Civil House and former governor of Bahia, Rui Costa ( PT), against the civil service.

In an interview with Metrópole radio last Monday (11), Rui Costa declared that the public service tends to have “great inertia” and needs to be more efficient. He also stated that it is necessary to give the servers a “sniff on the neck” to have more agility.

“There is a tendency towards great inertia, in general, in the public service. There’s an old phrase: ‘don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today’. So, sometimes, if you let it go, people ‘leave it until next week come, there’s no need to do it now, or leave it for tomorrow’. In fact, it’s necessary to do it today and not tomorrow, because what the people need is today”, declared the PT member from Bahia.

In the note, Fonacate stated that Rui Costa’s statements are typical examples of “institutional harassment”. The entity also said it regrets the attitude of the minister who, according to Fonacate, “should, rather, ensure the appreciation of those who build, with effort and dedication, the present and future of the nation”. “Therefore, the Brazilian public service demands respect and immediate withdrawal from the Minister of the Civil House,” he added.

Fonacate represents more than 200 thousand public servants in the country.
