We don’t know if it’s good news or not, but Zack Snyder has acquired the rights to the Blood and Ashes project. What’s going on? About a potential sequel to 300: The Battle of Thermopylae, which Snyder was writing but the studio wasn’t interested in. It was supposed to be a half-war and half-love story about Alexander the Great. He doesn’t know what Snyder will do with the rights yet. But he’ll probably try to come up with something.
Secret of the week
Emma Stone was presenting the new Saturday Night Live and decided to let the world know the secret of good comedy. A bit. So if you want to know how to succeed in this genre and what’s most important, she’ll be happy to tell you.
Theater of the week
It’s not enough for Netflix to just make movies and series. Now it was time for the theater. After all, Netflix is producing a play Stranger Things: The First Shadow, which is scheduled to premiere in London on December 14. It’s supposed to be a prequel from 1959 and the first ones are already out pictures.
Anime of the week
The animated Harley Quinn on HBO Max is one of the funniest superhero things in years, and if you haven’t watched it, you should start. This badass tried it twice in Suicide Squad and once not so successfully solo, but now it’s time for something new. Together with other partners from Suicide Squad, they will appear in the anime series. The Suicide Squad Isekai. I find it rather unpleasant, but I know a fart about it.
Regret of the week
Doug Liman, the director of Agent Without a Past or Edge of Tomorrow, filmed a remake of the action classic Roadhouse, in which Jake Gyllenhaal will follow in Patrick Swayze’s footsteps and play a former MMA fighter turned bouncer. The film was made for Amazon, and both gentlemen hoped that it could also be seen in cinemas. In addition, the reactions were more than satisfied, but then came the cold shower. The new Roadhouse will apparently go straight to streaming, as Gyllenhaal and Liman couldn’t get Jeff Bezos to talk, even when they screened the film for him on his yacht. It may not have been finished yet, but it looks like we won’t see the potential action blockbuster in cinemas. Too bad, this could have been nice.
Figure of the week
I’m not really a fan of figurines and similar collectible horses. I don’t have room for that, and most of them fall a little beyond the weirdness I can accept. But Alexe Murphy of RoboCup I could easily have. Because of her shot hands.
Star of the week
Macaulay Culkin he hasn’t made a big movie in quite a few years. But he doesn’t even have to, because Home Alone is such a legend that he wouldn’t make it anyway. Even so, it is a little surprising that he only got his star on the Walk of Fame this year. But again, it was a nice opportunity to see some old friends.
Podcast of the week
Rob Reiner he made films like Stand by Me, Misery Doesn’t Want to Die or The Princess Bride. Now he turned to podcasts and together with journalist Soledad O’Brien decided to try to figure out who killed president kennedy.
Beer and good deed of the week
Lojza Ali Neumann likes to ask us questions at MZ Live and recently brought us his beer to the Aero cinema. And we liked it enough. Now he and his buddies have made more of it and if you’d like it, you can get it too and you’ll be doing a good deed. All proceeds from the project George’s vision namely, it will go to a special OrCam MyEye device for beer lover Jiřík, who lost his sight. So before Christmas, do a good thing and drink it at home a good beer.
