Entertainment industry asks for a voice in the Health Council

They affirm representatives of the show, bars and event halls that are the most affected with the reduction of capacity by Covid-19.

Given the restrictions implemented last Thursday by the State Health Secretariat, as was lower the capacity to 70% of businesses in outdoor spaces and 50% in closed spaces, entrepreneurs in the entertainment industry are seeking to be taken into account in these decisions.

This is part of the Health Council, the body that dictates the measures to be followed to face the health emergency caused by Covid-19.

To do this, the members of the Cluster of the Entertainment, Sports and Food Industry (CIEDA) held a meeting yesterday with the Secretary of State Economy, Iván Rivas.

“We put the cards on the table, we talked about all the topics, from the entertainment industry, to sports and we explained to him how it affects the economy.

“We explain what is happening to us, what is going to happen and where we are all going to go in case this situation drops us to a lower percentage.

“The intention is that the Health Council that they manage, someone from our industry can enter, to be informed and put our points of view before they make a decision,” said the representative of Gimnasios Unidos, Daniel López.

After the meeting, the secretary told them that he would support them and told them that he would seek a dialogue with the Ministry of Health.

“He is going to have an approach to make that request, now that Economía is within the Health Congress,” López added.

However, just as they sought a meeting with the Secretary of Economy, the CIEDA members will seek a meeting with the Minister of Health, Alma Rosa Marroquín, for which they came to deliver a letter to the Ministry of Health.

“We need to have a meeting with the Ministry of Health to be able to specify all this tomorrow, we must talk about it with health so that the economy does not affect us, when the economy of Nuevo León falls, health cannot reappear either, and if health thunders as well the economy thunders.

“Let’s hope they raise the capacity a little bit to start mobilizing and putting things in order a little more,” added the representative of Gimnasios Unidos.

According to the CIEDA members, after the meeting they seek to have direct communication with the Health Minister, Alma Rosa Marroquín and with the Health Council to show them their concerns, seek to be an ally and advise the advice for the best shot decision-making and also know the areas of opportunity in the application of protocols.
