Johanna Cohen-Ganouna believes that the government should have imposed the vaccination of hospital staff long ago.

“I have a lot of anger and sadness,” she told Reuters news agency this week.

On March 13, his father, Fabien Cohen-Ganouna, was admitted to one of the hospitals in Paris for a hip fracture.

Although vaccinated, he was at risk of contracting COVID due to a weakened immune system due to a liver transplant.

Tested several times while in hospital, the 76-year-old is said to have tested positive on April 12.

Despite the care, he died on May 2.

According to Ms. Cohen-Ganouna, her father contracted the illness of a staff member since he could not receive visitors and he was alone in his room.

Asked by Reuters, the French government did not want to react.

On the side of the management of hospitals in Paris, it is said that a meeting had been offered to the patient’s family, but that the latter had refused.

Johanna Cohen-Ganouna’s lawyer, Me Benjamin Fellous, wrote to Prime Minister Jean Castex stating that the delay in forcing the vaccination of hospital staff put the life of the father in danger.

The case could be taken to an administrative tribunal if no financial settlement in the coming months.

Remember that the French government this week made vaccination compulsory for all caregivers and hospital staff.
