Artist Zhang Quan’s new themed solo exhibition was officially exhibited at Fuzhou China Resources Mixc recently. The exhibition is co-designed by the art consultants of P.art Group. The artist uses “together” as the thematic concept of the story, and interprets the image of KARORO in several interesting ways. The exhibition is divided into three groups of sculptures, which are respectively arranged in the 1F outer plaza, 1F inner corridor and 5F outer roof of Fuzhou MixC. The artist used KARORO as the image medium to create a macroscopic and wonderful “cute universe”, which also reflects the artist’s consistent creative philosophy and narrative method. No matter how the surrounding changes, I hope everyone can learn to use a look at life and problems from a humorous and relaxed perspective, so as to discover the inconspicuous but interesting little things of everyday life.
The work on the outdoor plaza 1F is a large 7m high sculpture of KARORO made of resin and fiberglass holding a heart in one hand and hiding the other hand behind his back, holding a bouquet of small flowers. In an anthropomorphic manner, this work vividly portrays KARORO’s shy and cute expression. As the representative creative element in artist Zhang Quan’s works, “rabbit” has always been hailed as “my young self”, “little nameless flower” is her beloved “toy”, and “present flowers” is used to express the my heart as KARORO The way. This time, KARORO holds a heart in his hands. Maybe he should have sent a small flower, but he accidentally gave her heart directly under tension. The story behind it is intriguing and it also brings out KARORO’s cute and innocent image.
The interior corridor on the first floor is a bold deconstruction of artist Zhang Quan’s image of KARORO. The work can be divided into three parts, the first part is a sculpture of a heart, the second and third parts are the head and tail of KARORO rabbit. The whole work is placed on a green straw mat, from above it looks like a giant blue rabbit hiding in the grass, with a big mouth revealing its red love heart, or it can be interpreted as KARORO hiding in the grass. ‘grass, grabbing the opportunity I want to eat the heart in front of me in one bite. No matter what method of interpretation may trigger endless reverie, the story is meaningful and interesting.
On the roof is KARORO and 7 duck boat sculptures. Among them, the KARORO sculpture is 230cm high, sitting on the side of the rooftop panoramic swimming pool and waving to the duck boats in the pool; the duck boat combination consists of a large duck boat with a height of 220cm and six small duck boats with a height of 80cm. It represents the mother duck and a group of ducklings, and also symbolizes the “family”. KARORO symbolizes “friends”, both contain beautiful meanings such as “companion” and “warmth”, which perfectly reflect the creative theme of “together”. Even if we are about to say goodbye to our friends, the time we “spend” together is happy and unforgettable. This once again confirms the keynote of the artist Zhang Quan’s story creation: under the cute appearance, a growing sadness is often hidden. Maybe it’s the failure to reach the ideal shore, or maybe it’s every goodbye after growing up.
It is reported that this Zhang Quan “Good Day with Karoro” art exhibition will last until February 26, and interested friends should not miss it.
