Committed to the pursuit of the utmost beauty of craftsmanship RIMOWA, recently held a new exhibition called “Ingenieurskunst (German for the beauty of craftsmanship)” in Shanghai to showcase the brand’s superb technical craftsmanship. This exhibition presents the legendary past and continuous development of this German brand, leading the public to stroll through the exhibition space and take a look at the history of the brand from its founding in 1898 to the present, the oldest exhibitions can be traced back to the 1947. In addition, the brand also opened a special exhibition space for modern works and the interactive exhibition installation shows the brand’s main products on the conveyor belt.
To pay tribute to the engineers and craftsmen who created RIMOWA products, RIMOWA has taken the product manufacturing process as another important theme of this exhibition, focusing on each step of the production of the aluminum-magnesium alloy product series of the brand name. From cutting and unfolding aluminum-magnesium alloy raw materials, to forming RIMOWA’s classic grooved design, to final assembly of the luggage, a video records each of RIMOWA’s beloved products in an expert pair of hands in the forming process. Viewers can also see how the parts of each RIMOWA suitcase are assembled in another angle which reveals the RIMOWA manufacturing process.
It is reported that this exhibition will be held at Taikoo Li Central Park East in Shanghai Qiantan from October 24 to November 6, and interested friends should not miss it.
