KCIC checks the suitability of tickets and the identity of passengers traveling on the Whoosh Fast Train. Checks are carried out randomly by officers at the station and conductors during the Whoosh journey.
KCIC General Manager Corporate Secretary Eva Chairunisa said ticket checks were carried out to ensure the suitability of data between passengers and their tickets. When at the station, officers will randomly check passengers’ identities before checking in.
“Apart from that, random checks will also be carried out by the conductor during the trip. Things that will be checked are the suitability of the name and identity card number on the ticket, as well as the travel schedule such as date and time of departure,” said Eva in a written statement, Sunday (31/3/2024).
Eva said this inspection was carried out as part of the Whoosh fast train security protocol. Apart from that, this inspection is also carried out to ensure that departing passengers match the existing travel manifest data.
The suitability of passenger data is also related to the travel insurance obtained by passengers. In accordance with applicable regulations, every Whoosh fast train passenger gets travel insurance as a form of guarantee for passengers. If the data does not match, the risk is that the passenger in question will not be covered by insurance.
During the socialization period, if there are passengers whose data does not match, then the passengers will be given education by the officers so that in the future they fill in the data correctly. After the socialization period, if passengers are still found whose data does not match, they will be given sanctions according to applicable regulations.
Eva appealed to the public that when ordering tickets, the data entered corresponds to the original identity document they have, namely KTP or passport. Make sure the data entered is correct before completing the ticket transaction.
“For the sake of a smooth and comfortable service process, we hope that prospective passengers can pay attention to matters related to passenger data and travel schedules. Especially before Eid transportation, the number of passengers will increase. Don’t forget to order Whoosh tickets through official channels to avoid practices brokering,” concluded Eva.
