First date at Altar – program Anniina Marjamäki’s Lanko restaurant is closing down. Marjamäki tells about it in his recent Instagram post.

If the publication does not appear, you can view it from this link.

The Lanko restaurant in Loimaa was opened in 2017. Now, seven years later, the restaurant’s story comes to an end. Marjamäki recalls the restaurant’s past years in the publication. In the publication, Marjamäki has also included the restaurant’s second founder, Jussi Mäkilän.

– When Lanko opened, we were excited to make our big dream come true, we were waiting to see if there would be a demand for it and if we knew how to set up a cozy place and create a job for ourselves, Marjamäki writes in the publication.

Marjamäki tells how, according to him, the restaurant’s boom period was experienced during Lanko’s first years. Then corona struck, which brought challenges to running the restaurant.

– Corona came and went and when it came it brought quite a few challenges, we were quite sure that it would fall now and Lanko’s story was here, Marjamäki writes.

Marjamäki says in the publication that there was still a fight over the restaurant. In the publication, he lists various stages along the way of the restaurant.

– The Escape Room was opened and closed, Loimiranta was woken up and put back to sleep, Vihannonkulma’s cafe opened its doors and the running of the hotel took over. For a while, we were already thinking maybe this is this, says Marjamäki.

Marjamäki writes that now the resources and perseverance are over. In his own words, he says “with a heavy heart” that it’s time to close the restaurant’s doors.

In its publication, Marjamäki thanks customers, related parties and business partners for seven years.

– Without all of you, there would have been no Lanko, Marjamäki writes.

Marjamäki says that the past years have taught him a lot. However, he says that they have not been easy.

– Many sorrows and worries, but even more wonderful encounters with customers and fun moments with the staff. Brother-in-law became family. Now the jacket is empty and I feel like I gave my all, we tried our best, says Marjamäki.

– For 7 years, Lanko has been a workplace, a second home and, above all, a way of life. Now you have to go towards something new and create your own identity anew in a certain way, Marjamäki writes.

Marjamäki and his spouse Ville Manner faced each other First date at the altar – in the sixth production season of the program. lltalehti interviewed the couple in June. Already at that time, Marjamäki hinted at the changes taking place on the work front, when he said that his job description would shift from “field work” to an expert role.

– Of course, it can’t be done in one go, but we’re moving in that direction little by little, Marjamäki said.
