to the heart – The Ensemble Junge Musik Sachsen-Anhalt under the direction of Caspar René Hirschfeld will open this year’s music festival “KlangArt Vision”. After the concert on Saturday at Gossler Castle in Kalbe in the Altmark, the festival will be followed by events at various locations in the state, including Magdeburg, Halle and Naumburg, until June 30th.
The young music ensemble plays “Anything has its time” in honor of two composers. This year marks the 100th birthday of the avant-garde composer György Ligeti (1923-2006) and the 400th anniversary of the death of the Renaissance composer William Byrd (1543-1623). In addition, new compositions should enrich the concert of the ten young musicians.
As a project of the International Academy of Media and Arts in Halle, the “KlangArt Vision” festival focuses on contemporary music. The motto of the fourth edition is “NeuGier – Composing The Future”. According to the organizers, the program should also build bridges between genres, such as between classical music and improvisation. The focus is also on promoting young talent, it said. In this way, young composers are brought into conversation and collaboration with directors and conductors.
According to its own statements, one of the claims of the music festival “KlangArt Vision” is to highlight the richness and diversity of the music and cultural landscape in Saxony-Anhalt. In addition, networking between associations, organizations and “sound bodies” should be carried out and projects should be further developed.
