The day has started dry, in some places even a watery sun is shining, but a rain front is approaching. It enters the country from the west during the day, says Buienradar meteorologist Thomas Vermeulen.
It only gets drier in the west at the beginning of the evening. In the east it will be during the night.

Strong gusts of wind
At the end of the evening the wind will blow hard in the coastal provinces. Wind gusts of up to 100 kilometers per hour can occur in the provinces of South Holland and Zeeland. The KNMI has issued code yellow for this.
It is not getting cold today, just like the past few weeks. According to Vermeulen, 17 degrees can still be reached in the south. According to Vermeulen, the national daily record could be broken. That stands at 15.7 degrees, which was in De Bilt in 2006.
Heat records
The year 2020 has already broken twelve heat day records so far, of which two day records were set in November.
It is in De Bilt monthly average of November at 10.1 degrees. Normally the average temperature for the month of November is 6.7 degrees.

Incidentally, it has been warmer than usual for a long time. For example, Weeronline has calculated that it has not become colder than 10 degrees during the day for 229 consecutive days. That’s a record. The previous record is from 2011 (from March 27 to November 9).
There is a good chance that we will dive below 10 degrees next week, says Vermeulen. Then we go to normal temperatures for this time of the year. Friday the maximum temperature is probably 9 degrees.
