After the success of the film “Enola Holmes”, Netflix officially launches production of the sequel. Britain’s Helena Bonham Carter is back in service as filming is imminent.
The adventures of the youngest investigator of the Holmes clan resume. A real success on the Netflix platform when it was released, Enola Holmes had been viewed by no less than 76 million subscribers in the 28 days following its release – according to figures provided by the streaming giant. It is therefore natural that a sequel is born. Helena Bonham Carter returns to her role as Eudoria, the mother of the Holmes family, and joins Millie Bobby Brown and Henry Cavill again.
While filming is due to begin next week in London, Netflix took advantage of its Tudum online event to announce the return of another member of the cast: Louis Partridge, who had caused a sensation among a young audience in the guise by Lord Tewkesbury. The rest of the cast is composed of David Thewlis, Susan Wokoma, Adeel Akhtar, Sharon Duncan-Brewster or Hannah Dodd. Director Harry Bradbeer, already at the helm of the first part, is also back in service.
Initially planned for a theatrical release, the film Enola Holmes had been acquired by Netflix following the pandemic. Before finding her in this second installment, Millie Bobby Brown is expected for season 4 of Stranger Things, scheduled for 2022.
