The premiere of the week
Transformers Uno
Transformers One is the missing link to learn more about the relationship between Optimus Prime and Megatron: how did they meet? Were they ever friends? Why did they take different paths?
The story, brought to the big screen under the direction of Josh Cooley, will answer these questions while describing the origin of the popular characters on the planet Cybertron, millions of years before the events of the other films and long before the arrival of human characters.
“It’s been almost 40 years since Transformers: The Movie and that film left its mark on me and on a whole generation,” Cooley said. “It was time to reveal that Optimus Prime and Megatron were brothers before they became adversaries.”
The film features Orion Pax and D-16, Cybertronian workers who must join forces to defeat the current leader and find the power that will make them transform.
“Megatron has always been known as the bad guy, but we didn’t know the story behind that,” the director explained. “Here fans know how the movie will end, but the appeal is that they will understand with sadness why D-16 turns bad and walks away from Orion Pax, discovering that the world is not as he thought.”
For Transformers One, the director assembled a super cast of voices, including some Avengers, such as Chris Hemsworth and Scarlett Johansson, as well as Brian Tyree Henry, Keegan-Michael Key, Steve Buscemi and Jon Hamm, among others.

What to see…
A plot from the past that is very current
If there were a phrase that defined the film Casi el paraíso it would be: “Any resemblance to reality… is mere certainty.”
The film, starring Esmeralda Pimentel, Andrea Arcangeli, Karol Sevilla and Miguel Rodarte, is based on a novel of the same name by Luis Spota, published in 1956, but which deals with a story so current, as if almost seven decades had not passed since its publication.
“We are still the same, the malinchismo has not changed, the classism has not changed, and the corruption has not changed, nor has this need of politicians to pretend to be other people. And I think that the fact that this soap opera is still so present at this time means that our evolution has been very slow,” shared director Edgar San Juan.
The film was shot in Acapulco, Mexico City and Italy. “The premise is that an Italian aristocrat comes to Mexico to conquer the highest spheres of power, which in Mexico, the highest spheres of power are Mexican politics,” said actress Yuriria del Valle.
Upon arriving in Mexico, Italian Count Ugo Conti (Andrea Arcangeli) knew he had found paradise: A place where Mexican high society surrendered at the feet of the young aristocrat.
Alonso Rondia (Miguel Rodarte), a politician with dreams of grandeur, sees in Conti his passport to power, offering him luxuries and the heart of his daughter Teresa (Karol Sevilla). While the count takes advantage of his relationship with Alonso, he will meet again with Frida Becker (Esmeralda Pimentel), the love of his life, and the only person who knows his dark past.
