District Administrator Eberhard Nuß handed over the decision of the responsible transport commission to Mayor Karin Kuhn. Photo: Herbert Ehehalt From the intersection Kreuzwegstraße, coming from Uettingen, in the course of the entire passage through to the junction of Leinacher Straße at the exit towards Hettstadt, a speed limit of 30 km / h will apply in the area of the municipality of Greußenheim. To fulfill this long-cherished wish, the municipality owes a decision of the transport commission, consisting of representatives of the responsible departments at the district office, the state building office and the police inspection Würzburg-Land. Associated with this is the task for the future municipal council to punish any violations by commissioning traffic surveillance. Signs are still missing For the time being, however, the decision handed over by District Administrator Eberhard Nuß is still a “toothless tiger”. At least until the conditions for punishment are met by attaching the signs and commissioning traffic surveillance. “The new council will make the necessary decision in one of its first meetings,” announced Mayor Karin Kuhn, Greussheim Citizen Center (BMG). The population, as well as those responsible, had long wanted a speed limit in the course of the state road 2310 in the area of the municipality of Greussenheim. This is the only way to make the passage through the area unattractive for heavy goods vehicles leaving the freeway, the relevant traffic commission decided. When handing over the relevant notification, District Administrator Eberhard Nuß named “the decisive criterion for this, in particular the curvy and narrow course of the passage through town – without the possibility of pedestrians using a sidewalk”. For the district administrator “it is a miracle that no one has been injured or died in an accident here.” As a background to the many complaints and wishes from the population, Nuss “conceded that German road traffic law still applies from the time when there were as many cars in one place as there are today in a family”. There are no or only extremely narrow sidewalks in most places in the very winding passage through Greußenheim. This results in a deadly danger for older people and for children, Nuss explained. The Transport Commission is convinced that the speed limit that was now shown was therefore unavoidable for the safety of pedestrians. As a further indication of the punishment for overspeeding, District Administrator Nuss referred to the installation of lightning columns for local authorities, which will also be possible in Bavaria for consistent monitoring from May. – Greussenheim Herbert marriage stop Building authorities population Eberhard Nuss Speed limits Karin Kuhn Heavy goods traffic City councils and municipal councils Road traffic law Speed limit Traffic monitoring conviction – – – Related posts:BD.
