Sun., 6.8. – Sunday, August 13th, wildlife park, Bad Mergentheim
In mid-August, you can not only marvel at over 50 animal species in one of the most beautiful wildlife parks in Germany, you can also enjoy film art in the open air. The successor to the legendary forest cinema opens the screen at the highest point of the Katzenberg. The program includes the German-Belgian production “When will it finally be like it never was”, the comedy “No Hard Feelings”, Disney and Pixar’s latest animation hit “Elemental” and the second part of “Fisherman’s Friends”.
Spessart flicker
Mi., 9.8. – So., 12.8., Terrassenbad Frammersbach
When the sun sinks towards the horizon on a warm summer evening and the first stars appear, the Terrassenbad in Frammersbach once again becomes the backdrop for the Spessart flickering. Four films will be shown on the big screen on the sunbathing lawn in the middle of wide, green nature: The new Disney adaptation “Arielle, the Mermaid”, Karoline Herfurth’s “Einfach mal was Schönes”, “Oskar’s Dress” with Florian David Fitz and the long-awaited French one Comedy “Monsieur Claude and his big party”.

Two special highlights will be presented on the big screen against the dreamy backdrop of the Mainland. Indiana Jones and the Wheel of Destiny is on the program on Friday. Beforehand, as dusk falls, Ami Lyons will provide musical entertainment. On Saturday everything revolves around Freddie Mercury and Co.: Before “Bohemian Rhapsody” flickers across the screen, there’s “An unplugged tribute to Queen” with the band’s best songs. You are welcome to bring blankets for the large meadow.

After dark, well-known films can be seen and unseen pearls discovered in front of the imposing backdrop of the moat. Among other things, the new Eberhofer “Rehragout Rendezvous” can be seen, the long-awaited “Indiana Jones and the Wheel of Destiny”, the film adaptation of the world bestseller “The Song of the Crayfish” and the seventh part of the Mission: Impossible series, “Dead Reckoning”. On August 23, Ralph Turnheim will give a silent film live performance with Viennese charm.

Cineworld Open-Air
Until the end of August, Cineworld roof
The Cineworld Mainfrankenpark offers films with a view when it invites you to the open-air cinema on the roof on warm summer nights. High above the city, films of various genres are shown over the summer months after dark. Among others, “Rehragout Rendezvous”, “Happy 50” and “Top Gun Maverick” will be shown. If a performance has to be canceled due to rain, there are free tickets for another open-air performance as a replacement. The full program can be found on the website.
Central Open-Air
Until Wed., August 31st, approx. 9.30 p.m., Bürgerbräugelände
Cinema, moon and stars: The Central shows films in the open air until the end of August. The program includes the satire “Triangle of Sadness” by Ruben Östlund, the award-winning “The Whale” with Brendan Fraser and Todd Field’s “Tár”, which was nominated for six Oscars. A highlight is the performance of “The Big Lebowski” on August 10, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Matching this, of course, White Russian is offered. It’s half price for every dude who comes in a bathrobe.
