The Italian energy giant added that previously signed contracts with Gazprom Export remain in force.
“Flows of Russian gas to Italy have fallen to almost zero. The Russian company began to cut supplies in June last year,” said Eni CEO Claudio Decalzi.
The Italian company aims to completely replace Russian gas volumes by 2025, focusing on Algeria, Egypt, Mozambique, Congo and Qatar. Italy imported about 40% of its gas from Russia before invading Ukraine.
