“Eni Aims to Replace Russian Gas by 2025 After Gazprom Export Cuts Supplies to Italy”

“The reductions applied by Gazprom Export are subject to confidential arbitration,” the statement said.

The Italian energy giant added that previously signed contracts with Gazprom Export remain in force.

“Flows of Russian gas to Italy have fallen to almost zero. The Russian company began to cut supplies in June last year,” said Eni CEO Claudio Decalzi.

The Italian company aims to completely replace Russian gas volumes by 2025, focusing on Algeria, Egypt, Mozambique, Congo and Qatar. Italy imported about 40% of its gas from Russia before invading Ukraine.
