Argentine wines are known and demanded all over the world. This is because the natural conditions in Mendoza are very good for vine production, but also because the wine industry has been developing processes and products that further enhance these characteristics of the region.
The nutrition plan is key to achieving balance, reaching harmony between the concentration of sugars and acidity, which is decisive when it comes to achieving the quality demanded by the wineries.
At this point, the producers highlight the role of YPF Agro and its local distributors, especially the performance of one of its flagship products for vine nutrition: the triple granulate 19.

The producer has a long-standing close relationship with PetroAndes, distributor of YPF Agro in the area, which began with the purchase of fuel, and now extends to that of fertilizers. “What I use the most is the triple 19, which works very well in the area,” he points out.
On the PetroAndres side, Bianca Del Popolo, agronomist engineer and technical manager of the companyhe explains: “We try to provide them with the most comprehensive technical advice possible, accompany both producers and agronomists, solving their doubts with innovation and technology.”
For the grape, a key moment is the envero, a process during which it begins to take on its characteristic color. The engineer says that it is essential to reach that point with the entire nutrient plan, mainly with nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus. “It is also super important to have arrived well with the irrigation water, especially in this area, which is essential,” adds Del Popolo.
The first fertilization it is made post-harvest, with the application of the aforementioned formula: YPF Agro’s triple 19 granules.
“This fertilizer falls precisely within the concept of Summa Mix, a mixture that is put together measure, according to the needs of the crop, and then it is complemented with fertilization, which here is called fertigation, because it is applied through irrigation hoses with liquid fertilizers”, the professional details.
Other blends widely used in the area are 18-46-0, the triple 15 blend, and in the vine there is a great opportunity for YPF Agro’s Urea N-Gradual, the specialists consider.
