Paris, September 28 / WAM / His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy, discussed with a group of businessmen, investors and CEOs of major French companies, during a meeting in the presence of Frederic Sanchez, President of the International Branch of the French Employers Association, ways to enhance economic cooperation between Abu Dhabi and Paris and create… New paths enable the business communities in both countries to explore more available opportunities that support the sustainable growth of their economies, especially in the new economy sectors.

His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq said that economic and trade cooperation is the main driver for strengthening the bonds of partnership between the two countries and pushing them forward towards achieving their sustainable development goals and ensuring prosperity and well-being for both friendly peoples. From this standpoint, the two sides have worked over the past years to provide all the tools and capabilities necessary for the prosperity and expansion of the activities of their companies, which has been reflected positively on the numbers of companies operating in the markets of the two countries.

He added that the economic policies approved by the UAE in the last 3 years, in implementation of the vision of the wise leadership, formed fertile ground for the growth of major French companies and their spread in new markets, due to the various incentives and advantages they possess, including advanced infrastructure and flexible legislation that ensures fair competition. He continued: “These capabilities have contributed to the UAE embracing more than 600 French companies that employ more than 30,000 people and operate in various sectors, including renewable energy, transportation, logistics, hotels, aviation, space, banking, insurance, and others. His Excellency stressed that the bilateral relations between the two countries have achieved qualitative advances in various fields of cooperation, pointing to the depth of the common ties between the United Arab Emirates and the friendly Republic of France, which are embodied through the strategic alliance between them, the foundations of which were laid by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates. His Excellency called on French businessmen and owners of emerging companies to take advantage of the promising opportunities that the Emirati market possesses, to move their companies’ operations towards more markets in the Middle East and North Africa region and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, in order to grow their trade and increase the penetration of their goods towards these rich markets. .

The French Employers Association, known by the abbreviation “MEDIF”, is a leading network that includes 173,000 companies and subscribers and has great economic weight inside and outside France. It aims to support entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized companies, which represent about 95% of the total companies joining its network, and provide innovative solutions.
